Hi, my 2004 active sport 1.6 failed to start after I fixed my washer motor, (dirty connectors) I checked a few fuses and took out one of the relays from the fuse box behind the battery tray before finding the corroded washer pump plug. Could it be I disturbed something?
Maybe a faulty relay or I disturbed the crank shaft sensor causing the engine not to start. It whizzes over fine but doesn't even try to fire.
Seems too much of a coincidence to be the ecu throwing up a fault after I fix the washer motor. It didn't start after so I'm hoping it's a quick fix.
It's never been a problem before, incidentally I didn't notice any warnings on the dash.

Any ideas welcome. Cheers ken

Update...I took off the battery tray and wiggled the fuses and the relays also the earth leads and it started first time.

I have cleaned the fuse box and sprayed it with switch cleaner and it starts every time. My worry is not having found a hard fault; will it let me down when I least want it too.

If it wasn't so cold I would tackle all the earths and the connectors under the fuse box. Cars work fine till the winter comes.

Lets hope it's "fiat accompli"as the french would say. I think that means "job done"

That would be "fait accompli" ;)

Best way to use switch or electrical contact cleaner is to remove the component(s) (fuses, relays etc.) then spray the contact areas and let it dry before replacing them. That will work much better than just spraying the fuse box.
.

Thanks yes I did remove all and clean too with scotchbrite.

Yes I know it's spelt fait. It was just for the purpose of the jokette.

Just had a run out and it ran perfectly.
