JTD Dynamic - good buy ??

I've been looking on a car buying website and a local dealership has a 1.9 JTD dynamic 04 reg but with delivery miles only 3 door in a metallic maroon colour for £8499. What is the difference between the dynamic & other jtd's ?? and would you consider this a good buy, I reckon its a good deal myself.

Re: JTD Dynamic - good buy ??

Dynamic tends to have more goodies. JTD a good buy if you do a lot of miles, and plan to keep the car for a decent number of years. JTD does hold more value in general than petrol equivalent, but only about £1k based on Parkers etc, so if you can get a 1.6 for £6.5k your paying £2k over, say you get £1k back on re-sale, then how quick will you recover £1k in fuel savings. A few years anyway. So bear that in mind too.

Re: JTD Dynamic - good buy ??

All 3door JTD's are dynamics!

I paid £9500 for mine brand new, but that was a while back now, not sure you could match it now

That is a good deal. I just paid 8.7 for the same with 11 on the clock. Admittedly it gas got a rake of extra's like full sky roof, 17" Abarth alloys but I would have had it without them without hesitation.

Re: JTD Dynamic - good buy ??

Seems to me that your paying about 1k over the odds because its from a Fiat dealer.

Id look around at other non-fiat dealers or even privately, as the car would still be under its 3 year Fiat warrenty should anything go wrong.

Id pay 7.5k tops.

Re: JTD Dynamic - good buy ??

If you do buy it privately, then the warranty still needs to be transferred to you via a local FIAT dealership, for a fee, and they need proof that work/services have been carried out properly.

Would that have been Wilson in Epsom by any chance? Was there myself yesterday, nothing much took my fancy.

Cool Re: JTD Dynamic - good buy ??

Don't know where you are in Surrey, but don't ever bother with Bishops in Guildford. They make it easy to not buy a car from them by seemingly not having any sales people. Clevland Cars in Ash are OK, but I don't know if they'd do a good deal. Over in West Sussex, Wilson Purves (Ifield in Crawley) are pretty good. When I enquired about chaning to a Dynamic JTD Stilo in March (when my Punto's head gasket went) they immeadiatly offered a discount of £2k off a new one. Not that I'd buy a new one, but I go the impression they would do a deal. And the servicing was always honest with them...

When i was buying my abarth, the dealership wanted £95 to swap the warranty to me! I refused to pay that and they knocked the cost off the price off the car, also got tax thrown in and a free service. If a dealership isnt willing to deal, walk away. its a buyers market, there's plenty more cars out there to choose from.

I think Fiat have discontinued the Dynamic JTD. They appear to only come in Active JTD or Sporting JTD variations now. Basically identical specification to the Dynamic, but lacking alloy wheels.
