Brio [META] after market alarm?

Does anyone know if the aftermarket dealer fit alarm for the Stilo listed in the accesories brouchure comes with the u/sonic sensors that fit where they would be if they were factory fitted i.e. where the courtesy lights are?

Cheers,

I've seen the accessories catalogue but the alarm was not in aftermarket sale.Anyway, the sensors are fitted behind the inside miror close to the front inside reading lamps.

No they do not look the same as factory fit one. Yes they do fit near the courtesy lights but are standard black meta ones. That stick out. It better to fit them in the a posts, they will pick up better they as well.

Brio Alarm

Has anyone ever tried fitting the Stilo alarm listed in the Brio book. How easy is it to fit ?.

I want an alarm that is activated with the remote central locking.

Well, I think I am getting no where on this one.

My dealer doesnt know, but what I hear about some dealers thats not surprising (Fish Brothers Swindon)

I have emailed Fiat UK a week ago and had no reply.

I have spoken to Fiat CS on Monday and they have not come back to me.

All I want to know is if the car need reprogramming to accept the alarm or is it fit and forget ?

Can anyone recommend an alarm that can be opperated by the origanal remote ?

I have that alot with Customer Services not returning phone calls ( strangly they always in my case relpy to emails.... don' always get the answer I asked for but... )they worst thing about Fiats CS is they apparently in my dealing with them seem to not be trained well enough on the products and services that FIAT do, like most telephone support centers they do cover other companys as well.

Why not speak to another localish Dealer and see if they can help... I have found different dealers have different levels of knowledge,

closest to you I have found is MELLORS OF CHALLOW 01235 760606 who are listed as an Aftersales dealer.

or PEWSHAM GARAGES 01249 654429 ( 15miles away from your dealer ) http://www.pewshamgarages.fiat.co.uk/

If you want it to work with the original remote key then I would imagine it may need programming into the ECU so it will all work together.

Fitted a Number of these. It works through the can lines of the vehicle and should work of your exsisting remotes. The alarm siren goes under scuttle panel under wiper linkage and then wired to the fusebox at the side of the battery. The main unit fits inside car and hard wired into the wires inside the car. Full instructions provided.

Thanks for the info mate. Does the ECU need reprograming or is it just a wiring job. Also when the unit is wired in side the car does it plug in to a socket or do I need to make the connection my self?

Thanks again for the reply.

If It's a Genuine Fiat(META) alarm in the brio catalogue. No programming is required. But the wiring does need to be soldered In dont use them wiring connectors, It will cause nothing but problems. It also Comes with Ultrasonics which detect movement in car.

re: Brio Alarm

apparently, chirping when your alarm arms/disarms is illegal under an EU directive. On my Toad it came with the function disabled and a disclaimer written for before you activate the chirp. In with my instructions it states: "If the siren chirps are enabled, the system no longer complies with European Law(95/56/EC)". Not sure what that law is about tho - mine chirps!!

re: Brio Alarm

The fiat fitted alarm option I had on my car has interior volumetric sensors and is able to detect unlawful opening of the doors, bonnet, boot, ingnition turning to MAR, battery cable cutting, presence of moving bodies in the passenger compartment and any raising/Lowering of the car..the alarm does beep when turned on/off.
This was the £150 optional alarm when I bought the car, so there shouldn't be much difference.
According to a number of different sources including Fiat, the Alarm cannot be added onto ?
