Anyone got an idea on what may be causing wet carpet in the footwell near the left front seat rail. There is never any evidence of fresh water leaking through the door but seems to be wet most days.

Smell or taste it if brave as it could be coming from the heater radiator or hoses telling you that one or the other are buggered. Not had a proper look at my stilo yet but most cars window wiper motor and heater motor sit in a well under window grills. This well has drain holes what get clogged with leaves (more so over winter) this will let the well fill up when raining and the water tends to end up seeping into the car.
Also if a door seal is goosed then the water may be running round the door frame and coming in at a corner or do you have a sun roof where the seal could be gone.

Did you give a incontinent gran or aunt a lift?

do you have a skyroof as well?
if you do it will be the drain(s) are blocked and you will need to clear them.
I just done mine with an old piece of curtain rod.
there wont be any signs of leaking as the water travels under the trim.

Yes do have the skyroof, did wonder about it but always seemed dry. Shall check it out where do the drains for it run?

Dont think anything in the front is blocked, had a good look round.

Did notice that there was a bit damp in the top glove box tho if that suggests anything?

Thanks for help so far.

Now that is odd. Could be coincidence but the water would need to go through the door. Only thing above the box door is the windscreen top edge or does the sky roof come that far forward?
