Hi all

Having a few issues with my 1.2 2003 Stilo. Has been running really well since I last had to delve into the wisdom of the good people of this forum. Alas, all changed the other day.
I tried to start the car and the battery was completely dead, no life and a Fuel Cut Off warning showing. As the battery needed changing anyways, I put a new one in.
Car started for a bit, however died quickly and Fuel Cut off lit up on the dash, with the sidelights on and the car trying to unlock every few seconds. Then a number of other warnings started up and the car is impossible to start. Pushing the Fuel Cut off on the passenger side seems to have no effect as it seems to instantly cut again as soon as you try try and start the car.
So in short, when I try and start the car -

1) Tried to turn over and then Fuel Cut off comes up and stops the car.
Slight burning smell from near the battery but no sparks or smoke
2) Airbag warning illuminates
3) Power steering warning comes on and steering cease to function
4) Bulb warning also switches on
5) Loose connection lights up
6) Pushing the fuel cut off has no effect

Sorry this is turning into a bit of an epic, but i have no idea what has happened, car was running brilliant the day before. Have checked fuses and they all seem fine.

Thanks again (Fingers crossed i will not be digging a big hole for it)

Thanks for getting in touch. Could very well be due to the latest floods we have been having round here. Also, i noticed the battery cover is not present, so i am guessing that has not helped. (Have to try and track one down.)
I will have a look and see if i can dry it out and hope there is no permanent damage done!
Cheers again :)
