Hello members of FF,

I'm looking for some help.
My JTD (2005) has the following faultcodes:

P0120 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit
P0641 - Sensor Reference Voltage "A" Circuit/Open

I've replaced a few connectors, throttle pedal inclusive sensor, MAF, Atomizers (2x), and I did this because the throttle didn't respond. It idles 1200RPM and there is no reaction whatsoever.

Please, who knows what this could be?

Thanks in advance, Greets from Holland.

Greetings

Does your stilo have air con as this connector to the air con within the engine bay can cause throttle response issues if there is a problem with this connector as it is linked within the stilo wiring to the 5v throttle circuit, it is something to look at, some details in the post 9 of the link below.

Thanks alot! This could do the trick.
Now I have to find where that connector is.

See how it reacts when I unplug it

So I'm out of ideas. Nothing has helped.
Anyone??? :-/

So I picked it up from the garage.

For about 5minutes it drove OK.
Right after those 5 minutes the throttle didn't respond and again, 1200rpm.

Cmon guys, please anyone?

not a problem I have had myself so can only put a few ideas to try ,

not sure why you replaced maf, but try disconnecting the connector from top of the maf and see if it runs better.

have a look at the brake switch located in drivers footwell on the bar above brake pedal in case it is interfering with throttle and not a faulty brake switch.

another idea would be to disconnect the cars battery for 30minutes and reset car computer system as doing this does sometimes help to clear any electrical bugs the car may have.

Other things to look at include checking all earth points are clean and shiny with good contact, and the D4 brown connector located to bottom rear of engine bay fuse board is clean with good contacts

as said these are only things to try as not a fault I have experience of..

Thanks for sharing your ideas.
I've had the battery lose for more than one day. That didn't help.

I could have a look at those earth points, and the D4 connector.
Do you have a picutere of how that connector looks like? - Is it the connector below the battery?

So I cleaned those connectors. All of them, the fuse box aswell.

Don't think it will solve the problem. Also checked the groundwire, seems to be OK.

How can I see if my ecu is broken?

Car seems to work fine, except when I plug the 10A fuse in for the climatecontrol , radio and interior lights.

So I got to check that out, heard stores that it uses the same 5V connection.

yes correct the connector to air con somehow effects throttle response as indicated in post 2, although I have no experience of this but there has been previous postings on the forum of others having a similar problem, perhaps using climate control with air con switched off will point to it being the air con compressor connector should car run ok with air con switched off good that you are getting to cause of problem now.

It was my friend's uncle who had a look at it.
So yeah, only paid for the parts.

I stripped the fusebox at the battery, it seemed to work. But then suddenly when I turned the engine of and on it's back to how it was before.

Don't seem to be the airconditioning. I'm out of ideas, Damn.. My honda civic ED (1991) still drives like a charm, stupid computers nowadays!

Well the garage had a few ones. I've got the OBD2 adapter which does not support a fiat stilo o.0 But I know the 2 codes: P0120 and P0641

Not sure if this will solve the problem? I can get it to a garage to reset the faults in the ECU. I got to find the problem that causes my car to run 1200rpm

They also said I could do that with my current OBD reader, but my fiat doesn't support it :-/ Only the professional readers.

Did you ever sort out what the problem was? I am having the same ghost issue, randomly it happens and its driving me mad.

thanks in advance
