changed rear caliper today so bonnet was up for access to brake fluid res but it started raining so i put my hood up to get job done not thinking about cover free fusebox Soooo went out to get in car & fuse box buzzing car not starting apart from stripdown & HOT air gun & wd-40 should i use electrical contact cleaner instead? not happy about using electric hot air gun outside in the rain either need car for 0600 journey to work in my second week of new job

Im presuming the fusebox has two half's. Can you not split it to pull the lug out rather than knacker the fusebox? What fuse is it. If something daft like the interior light or horn then you are not walking to work, just get the hair dryer out. :)

its the grey tray with all the relays n fuses in its one of the small fuses on the side but as i have nothing relating to fuse location... it failed to start this morn obd & loose connection warning im goin to see if i can solder a repair i have pictures of fuse box/tray in various states from last night i finished at 0400 so a bit worse for wear one chance tonight n see how it goes

If your desperate and in real need of the car you could try pusing in a piece of Fuse Wire of correct ampage to bridge the broken fuse but only and repeat only use fuse wire not a handy bit of tin foil or anything that is not fuse wire you will only cause more expensive damage .

Then when you have the time splitting the first halves of the fuse board is not too difficult it is taking the layer apart inside that makes things awkward and you should be able to jiggle the broken fuse lug out and have a quick inspection of the condition of the board with not having to dismantle it completely there is a guide in the guides section if you get stuck....just lay the relays and fuses down in sequence to their relevant position for replacing back in when done,

What, you cant read?

Time is the first bus?

no ffs as in oh aye thats on my other tower, power steering fuse (F24)holder snapped btw

Should that prevent the car starting? Do as below says as you will no doubt end up wanting a new fuse box getting the solder out. You might be able to put another fuse in if the two sides open far enough.

just to clarify fuse box next to battery had plastic cover off its the holder underneath thats snapped so fuse wire is a no go, solder not strong enough as it turns out or the bubble of solder is so large it prevents cover refit, £40 from scrap yard for replacement

Now I understand what you mean. As you were buying another anyway you could have soldered two wires to where the female pins sit and dangled them out the fuse box and soldered a fuse to them. That would have got you to work. How was the bus this morning?

whats the part number issue?

I'm not sure what the actual difference is between them, but when I was looking for one I noticed they all seemed to begin with the same 7 numbers and the 8th number varied. I'd assume its something significant - if not, Fiat would have just stuck with one fusebox design to save costs.

At the very least, I'd assume there are different boxes for 4 cylinder petrol vs 6 cylinder petrol vs diesel. There may even be differences based on climate control vs a/c vs heater only. You'll have to check epers

Looking at epers, I found 2 different part numbers for the JTD (80)

46846108 - JTD 80 no AC or Climate Control
46846109 - JTD 80 With AC or Climate Control

Not sure if it will work, but here's the link to the page in ePer,

If the link wont get you there, it's under section 555 (Equipment and ELectrical controls)/55502-00 interconnection and remote control switch

Hope this helps, and please double check my assumptions in ePers before ordering anything.
