Hi guys

My car doesn't seem to be circulating the water correctly, anyone any ideas or has anyone came across this problem before?

Thanks
Christopher.

Already fitted a new thermostat on Saturday, but still the same, it's only came about from I put the new radiator last week and it was a brand new genuine one out of fiat, the pipe that runs from the engine at timing belt side down to the bottom of the radiator is the one that goes cold

Re: 2002 stilo JTD

The radiator wont cool it down to tap cold. Is your car overheating? if not you think to much

Re: 2002 stilo JTD

umm...well...yes. Its circulating hot water around the engine, everything will be warm, id be more worried if it wasn't.

What is your worry??

The pipe that runs from the top of the engine at water pump down to bottom of the rad is staying cold, and Im thinking that the head gasket is maybe about to go :-(

I bought radiators in the past and the inlet/outlet holes had plastic caps on them that you are meant to remove.

However I also would say bleed the system. Had issues like this on my 306D.

There is only 2 bleed screws on the car that I car see and they were all bled, when ya bleed them the pipe go's warm until ya take it for a drive then it go's stone cold

Viewed from the front of the car:

  1. There will be a black plastic bleed screw on one of the heater hoses at the back right of the engine.
  2. A black plastic bleed screw at the top, right, back of the engine cooling radiator.
  3. A bleed bolt on the steel water pipe at the front of the engine.
  4. A bleed bolt on the aluminium water pipe at the front of the engine (not all JTDs have this one).
