I have searched the threads and have learned that I now have to check if rubber gaitor is fouling the indicator. Problem is that the indicator switch (for a left turn) will not stay in 'on' position without holding it down.
In the event of no simple fix ...
I have searched eper for the switch part number . There appears to be about ten different part numbers suitable. None of these correspond with any of the current parts currently listed on Ebay.
Dealer price for a new switch is £305 plus vat.
This fault has been present for the last four MOT's to my knowledge and in all probability as long as we have owned the car which is over 8 years.
Anyone experienced replacing one of these units?

Having checked the rubber gaitor on the indicator stalk and released it from the column cover , the indicator now works perfectly.
Retested for the MOT and a pass. . !
No need for an expensive switch after all.

Thanks to earlier post on this forum it was an easy fix.

Thanks, I'll check out the gaiter tomorrow, don't fancy paying €400 for a new stalk.
