Hi all,

I've just spent about 2 hours trawling through the various decent posts on sky window problems but reckon I can't find a case like mine. It's hard tell if my issue is with the control unit or the blind/curtain position or motor. Here's an attempt to present my issue :

1. Initially the blind stopped closing properly, it would stay stuck about 3/4 back, over the passenger seats. No adverse affect on the window itself which I used for 3 months without touching the blind.
2. After a stint of my wife driving the car, I discovered the blind guides (small side rods in pics below) in the fully closed position whilst the blind had disconnected and wound back behind the upholstrey and the rear of the car.
3. The window continued to work but clearly it wasn't the same, sometimes getting stick in certain positions, mainly though, it wouldn't really do intermediate ones, managing nonetheless to open and close fully. The blind motor was making a horrible fast clacking sound and still does.
4. I lent the car to a friend (can u see the pattern?) who said he couldn't close the window but then managed to somehow and couldn't open it again. That's where I'm at now.
5 The only button that gives sign of life is the 0 position on the control unit which when pressed in makes that nasty loud clacking or clicking sound at the rear. The blind guides are stuck up front (closed), can't figure out how attach the blinds back to those. The blind buttons do nothing, nor any other position on the main dial.
6 Winding the window open manually does work, then closing it by holding the 0 position down to override, in steps till fully shut.

- Why won't the position dial even make an attempt to open the window slats? Even my key wont attempt, as if there was an electronic issue rather than a mech one.
- How on earth can I refit the blind to those guides ? Any way to move them back?
- Is that loud noise due to a broken part, related to the Bowden wires ? Why should the windows be affected now if they weren't before?

Thanks in advance for any advice all.

I've made almost no progress on this. Im toying with the idea of taking apart the entire upholstrey lining to get at the mechanical parts of the sky roof.

Still, not having a clue what's causing the total lack of movement of the windows slats is blocking me. It seems like a program thing, is it possible the module is screwed?

Im having similar problems with my wifes car. Only my blind works ok just the roof will not open for love nor money. It tries to but appears to get jammed. Even the first panel will not tilt up even when operated manually.... It appears not many people know anything about these roofs!
I dont want to strip the roof lining as I know what a pain they are to get back!

the blind slides onto the roller parts in your first pic, i did this in a spare roof i had, my actual roof will not open and blind will not work athough i think its the blind motor gone in mine, and the roof i think has gone out of alignment, to me i think if i keep it a long time i probably replace it with a vynal top from a polo or even have one made, may even go for a manual roof so then no worry of it breaking

I too have a small issue of trying to reconnect the blind to the little black runners! I can't seem to find an easy way to make them lock into each other. It looks fairly straight forward but for the life of me can't figure it out without trying to use brute force. Surely there's a knack to it?
