Hi guys, I've got a 2002 Fiat Stilo active that I bought 4 month ago and im hoping you can help me out with the stereo.

I bought the car with a cassette player and a hidden cd player in a compartment above the glove box. The cassette player worked but the cd changer didn't so I went to the scrap yard and bought a cd player. Ive now fitted the cd player, the cd function works, but the radio doesn't. Im not sure why? its like it cant pick up a signal or radio channel. But my cassette player radio does.

Hope you can help me out!!

George :confused::confused:

They've just repaired mine, £102, but price will depend on diagnosis.

Reception/signal might be down to aerial amplifier.
If the car has an aerial amplifier, fitted in the base of the aerial, it needs a voltage feed when the radio is turned on. Most cars use the auto aerial feed from the back of the radio, but some, especially CanBus cars such as the Stilo have a separate feed from the original radio.

Got to pull the radio out again.
If the aerial lead has a fat lump on it with a small wire from it, that wire needs a 12v feed from the radio. Connect it to the auto aerial output on the radio power connector. That lump is not the amplifier, it is just a transformer that sends a voltage along the aerial coax to power the amplifier in the aerial base. I think it sends about 9v, but it might be 7v, can't remember exactly.
