Hi I have just bought a speedometer from an stilo abarth for my 1.4 active aircon now I know it needs a proxi alignment as it says a error when connected for the parking break, it had 680000 miles on clock and my clocks had 710000 anyways will a proxi alignment work to stop the mileage from flashing and put my correct mileage on and also what is the best software to use eg fiat ecu scan or multi ecu scan and can anyone give me instructions on how to do this thanks

Hi. Yes, it will stop the mileage from flashing. You can alter the the millage to increase, but not decrease from what is shown on the dash reading. Use fiat ecu scan with a OBD2 ELM327 lead to do this.

Hi thanks for the reply, so if I just do a proxi alignment will this increase the mileage for me or is there a special way of doing this along with the proxi alignment ? Also can I use any elm 327 lead or do I need this 1 http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/181419284585?nav=SEARCH It is a modified elm 327 cable for fiat ecu scan or multi ecu scan.

You'll need to write the new mileage then complete a proxi alignment. The mileage has to be written in KM though, so you'll need to manually convert it.

Proxi alignment should also remove all of the errors also, they're showing as the clocks think the car has got them currently (as the donor would have) but obviously doesn't (y)

Is it easy to write the mileage and is it a separate thing or is it in with the proxi alignment

Thanks, do u know what it's under on fiat ecu scan? Do I do this first before the proxi alignment ?

Thank u very much for ur help, now I just need the elm 327 cable, do I need one specifically for fiat scan / multi scan or will a normal one work?

Hi guys, well I bit the bullet and purchased a elm 327 lead for fiatecuscan/multiecuscan and tryed to use fiatecuscan to correct the mileage but it wouldn't connect to the dashboard but would connect to do the proxi alignment so I tryed multiecuscan and this worked fine I corrected the milage and then did a proxi alignment and all is working fine so thanks for all the help guys it had been much appreciated.
