Had a quick change of a wheel today and noticed two spikes on the disk. I take it these screw out? Reason I ask is I seen 4 wheels with good tyres and a good price I was going to go for but this would prevent me fitting them.

Not my car but you can see the studs

you can leave them out loads do, the wheel bolts and wheel will hold the disk on

I was kind of thinking that as I have had cars in the past with the retaining screw missing. Ill have another look and of they are in that indentation then I will either grind the stud of to leave the nut head or get some screw head bolts.

Plain and simple
They are fitted so as to align the wheel to aide easy fitting of the wheel bolt.
some older fiats only had the one stud and a bolt.
so you can just fit a bolts, i would personally fit the bolts, two on each disc, and they are available from fiat for peanuts.
LUIGI

I would do as Luigi suggests, just to keep the discs in place when you take a wheel off. Sometimes those spike bolts are well rusted in and an ordinary ring spanner can slip easily and damage the hex head. Use plenty of penetrating fluid or a blow torch if you find them hard to shift.

Took mine out as I had to change all wheels and couldn't find the same size used why they have to be a different spacing on the hubs is beyond me just have a stander spacing on the hubs would be a lot better
