Got an 02 Stilo 1.6 dynamic

It has a few issues, the skyroof doesnt open, it tries to but appears to get stuck. The fans blow and the aircon is cold but no air comes from the vents no matter what position the dial is in even though I can here the pulleys working when I turn it. The exhaust has a blow from the downpipe.

All in all its a decent motor and I cant moan for £350. Any hint on the above problems would be welcome. I did search on the roof issue and am going to tackle that but its the blowers that annoy me!

SkyRoof - be careful with this. You may need to get an air compressor and blow out the tracks etc of dirt and grime - there are trap sensors you see, so it could be those that are mucky and need a clean. I forget where the sensors are though, sorry, but just clean anything and everything in and around the frame work. Does it make any grinding noises?


Try a reset also, I think you press IN the dial for about 3 seconds or so, then it will work through a sequence and re learn.


Air Vents, I bet your pulley motors have died. I think there are two or four, a set either side of the central dash. The motors fix to the pulleys, and you can see them, if you remove the side panels on the centre console by your left knee and the opposite side in the passenger footwell. Reasonably easy to test and replace, just a little tight - parts are about £25 each - if you have MES, it will tell you which motors have died, a failure doesn't give an EML code, but it does log it. You can test by manually moving the pulleys, its probably one side that has failed...


downpipe blow = hole in the exhaust or join = new front pipe= see garage! Shouldn't be mega expensive to replace, or get it repaired temp.
