Hello

Yesterday i noticed a weird noise coming from the front passenger side wheel when reversing. It's like a rubbery squishing noise and also sounds like air is escaping, hope that makes sense. Tyres are correct pressures, it doesn't happen driving forward. Have only noticed it when reversing onto my drive. I can replicate the squishy type of noise by rocking the wheel and tyre. However when i stop, the noise carrys on and just fizzles out.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks

Phil

whaaaaaaat??!!

so, you rock the car, I assume it stocks rocking after about 1.5 bounces? but the noise carries on? At first I thought wishbone rubbers, because I had a similar thing on mine until they wen completely and now i am replacing them, so maybe check your wishbone rubbers. Other than that I am not too sure what can keep moving after rocking the front end other than the suspension setup.

Well the car doesn't really rock. I just gently jiggle the wheel and this noise starts but then when i stop the noise carrys on for a few seconds. I know it sounds strange! I could make a video and post it.

odd...if you are wiggling the wheel, then i'd think it was something with the suspension setup. So it could be wishbones, drop links, springs, shocks, shock tops. also check the hub for play and check the driveshaft at the CV joint end, and also peer through the gap to see if you can see any leaks etc from the driveshaft at the engine end...
