Hi guys
thought i would give you my experiance of this wonderful stuff.
I done a oil change the other day and noticed my front subframe was not in very good condition, very rusty where jacks had been applied over the years.

I decided to wired brush it down and put a layer of black waxoyl on the lot.
After i completed the subframe, the waxoyl was still 3/4 full and still hot (nice summer day), so i decided to do the rest of the car.

Very very messy job, but omg the car is silent now, i took care not to get it on bushes etc but obviously it cannot be 100%.
The under side of the car looks really nice now, but it the sound coming from the car that gas astounded me. My car has always rattled and creaked, infact all my stilos have even when brand new they creaked. This is the first time in 11 years my car sounds silent.

If your thinking of giving your car another decade of use then you have to use this stuff, its magic im sure!!

Is waxoil any kind of rust converter ?
Ive been looking at various phospheric acid products that kill and convert the rust to a black oxide, then something over the top.
I know waxoil is popular for underbody but is it more prevention orientated.
Ive been spending time under arches and was suprised how rusty my hubs and arms were, during mot i always try to get under and have a look but must look better from below.

It's not so much a rust converter rather than a rust preventative. It's a thick tar like substance made of a mix of wax and oil (belive it or not lol) and when applied to the underbody or wheel arches it offer unprecedented water protection once dry as it will not wash way and it totally repellent to water and salt and even self repairs when hit with stones. Water will not stick to it. I agree with roy lovelock and think it's the best stuff around and has been used on cars for about 50years (before that everyone used to paint their chassis with old engine oil )

It can be painted on with a brush or thinned down and used to inject into cavities. I've still got half a tub left so I'll be dousing the underneath of luigi before winter (y)

Good to get the summer chores done Roy, I too was getting the touch up work done.
For me on the underside of the car I used the Hammerite Underseal about £9 a tub, which has a mixture of waxoil and some sort of rust cure stuff in it well from what it says on the tin anyway., so quick brush and subframe , rear axle beam, inner wheel arches and all sills and places looking a little like rust may be occuring got a good coating.
Yes like you say a messy job but worth the little effort to keep the rust away ,stuff I used was brush on and still have half tin left for future use, as rest of the car is going well think is worth putting in little time to keep the wheels rolling for few more years at least. give my back, neck and arms time to recover till have to do it again :)

i used this on my old marea, scraped off damaged stuff, cleaned up, added 2 coast of rust converter, then 3 coats of anti rust primer, then 3 coats of waxoil, stayed fresh after that, need to get the stilo up on the ramps and clean the undersideand coat it again, weirdly i have had 2 stilo's now and not had any rattles at all so I must be lucky :D
