hi bought a eper disc 83 supposedly latest , but when I enter my vin it comes up with 2 cars obviously not mine.
anyone able to confirm or check what comes up on another version.
also on the vin plate theres a number for spares can this be used in eper ?
I bough it mainly due to being a sept 2006 and a jtd 150 I wanted to make getting spares a bit easier(wishbones are next, and ive seen all the threads on 12mm or 14mm bush and cast arms or pressed steel etc, mine look cast)
thanks

v83 is April 2014.

I have v80 (November 2013), if you want to PM me your VIN I'll check what's shown for it.

The Ricambi (spares) number is used for some parts change point. Some use just the VIN, some the engine number and some the spares number

I've managed to get an OLD V84..,
(not sure how many more they ran - I believe ePER has now ended..??)

anyway it doesn't just play,
It appears to have LOTS of set-up stages in various Euro languages, and built in link addresses..,

anybody able to tell me which / what I actually NEED to install for it to run,

thanks, Charlie

Did you change the 2 time expiry defeat files (epl.dll and errors.js) before running it for the first time?

V84 is the last edition available from Fiat on disc before it changed to USB pendrive.
.

I have a v84, working fine on Win10.

Do you think we'll see pen drives available sometime on Ebay for the later versions? I'd hope the current sellers will wish to continue.

Charlie, varesecrazy, did you copy the files as above? If not, might need uninstalling and reinstalling, then copy files, before running it. Squeak if no joy, I'll find some time to pop over and swear at it with you.

If needed I can copy my version of ePer 84 for you and bring it along to MITCAR. Installed first time and runs on windows 10 fine. Below is the install instructions on my disc:

EPER INSTALLATION
If the program doesn't start automatically please go to the DVD and run the "autorun.exe".

EPER ACTIVATION
After the installation has finished make sure the little EPER icon on your traybar next to the clock (bottom-right side corner of your screen) is OFF. If it is ON right-click on it and turn it OFF.
Go to the DVD and find the folder called GLOBAL EPC. Inside the folder you will find TWO FILES.
The two files are called:

"errors"
"epl.dll"

You need to copy these files one by one and place them in the correct folders on your computer as explained below.

IF YOU HAVE A 32-BIT SYSTEM:
"errors" goes to the "js" folder located in: C:\Program Files\Fiat\ePER\appsrv\site\js
"epl.dll" goes to the "Jetty" folder located in: C:\Program Files\Fiat\ePER\Jetty

IF YOU HAVE A 64-BIT SYSTEM:
"errors" goes to the "js" folder located in: C:\Program Files(86x)\Fiat\ePER\appsrv\site\js
"epl.dll" goes to the "Jetty" folder located in:C:\Program Files(86x)\Fiat\ePER\Jetty

PLEASE NOTE (IMPORTANT):
- when asked if you want to overwrite the existing files select "YES". If your computer doesn't ask you to overwrite it means you are in the wrong folder.
- if you have problems with the activation please restart your computer (do NOT start EPER after restarting) and replace the two files again.

Please make sure that:
1. Internet Explorer is your default browser (EPER doesn't work correctly on Firefox, Opera or Chrome).
2. you allow ePER Java through your firewall when asked.
3. make sure the small EPER icon at the bottom-right corner of your screen (by the system clock) is OFF before proceeding with the activation. If it is ON please turn it OFF then copy the/paste the two files.

IF YOU INSTALL EPER ON VISTA OR WINDOWS 7 YOU NEED TO RIGHT-CLICK ON THE EPER ICON ON YOUR DESKTOP AND SELECT "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR".

Shame we can't get the forum one updated to 84. I'd be willing to send a copy of mine in if needed. Also eper works fine on chrome for me so not too sure on the last parts above.

Unlikely I suspect.

The new KEYePER costs €70 to buy and needs an active subscription to keep it working.

From the Fiat technical information site:

"Once purchased, the USB flash drive will be delivered to you as occurred previously for the Spare parts catalogue DVDs.
When the USB flash drive is used for the first time, it requires an internet connection to be associated with your access credentials to this portal and an active subscription to Spare parts for at least 1 month (not necessarily at the beginning of this period): Technical Information user name and password will be requested to activate KEYePER only the first time.
Since then, the USB flash drive will be operating without the need for an internet connection. If an internet connection is available, the USB flash drive will check for the presence of updates upon startup, provided that you have an active subscription (of at least 1 month). This is necessary firstly to update the Spare Parts price list on the flash drive. In addition this updates the entire content of the USB flash drive, aligning it with the content of the related on-line documentation.
If the procedure is not carried out for a prolonged period of time or it is interrupted for the lack of a valid subscription, the USB flash drive becomes temporarily unusable: it will reactivate as soon as the procedure is carried out, by connecting to the internet with an active subscription.
When the 30-day period has elapsed this verification procedure must be compulsorily carried out."
.

Fiat should give a car-specific parts CD out with every new car. Or sell it as an "optional extra" since I can't imagine every old granny would want one..

It would be useful for owners to see what part they need. Just saying. :)

Of course it'd be useful, that's why they don't do it and make you go to the stealers :p
