I don't suppose anybody has created a parcel shelf, or has any idea on how to make one, presumably using MDF?
Mines been missing one since when I got it but now the subs on it's way I want it covered!

Cheers guys!

Gonna be hard work to make it look ok, so good luck with that. Presumably you've trawled the breakers.

Some thoughts.
I think MDF may be a bit heavy. My thoughts would be hardboard, with suitable stiffening underneath, or thin plywood, again with some stiffening.
Make a template from a large cardboard box first (then stiffen that and use it?). You'll need something to buffer it underneath where it rests on the supports, or it will drone and rattle, especially as the sub makes it vibrate.
Cover with vinyl, or better, industrial carpet if you can find some, or seat cover material. Some padding would probably help it not to vibrate.

Using MDF or anything heavy for a parcel shelf is a big no-no in terms of safety. In a head on crash you risk decapitating yourself!

Ahh right ok, I've tried all the scrappys and can't find them anywhere (other than flebay)! Was thinking of doing abit of a custom job and inserting a few speakers on the shelf, possible with the sub underneath!

You'd probably end up spending more building one yourself then just getting one off ebay.

Also, I'd ditch the idea of rear parcel shelf speaker, save the money and spend it on proper component speakers for your front doors.

I've got a stilo 3dr parcel shelf with infintiy 6x9s if interested :)
