Moved my thread here under request. Took mine for French MOT today and was amazed the first thing the guy did was plug into the ECU in the car to check on ABS function, emission etc (or so I understood). The car passed with no advisories so happy bunny . When I got home, been thinking about EGR that I cleaned out this morning and read the old thread on here about blocking it off so made a piece out of 1.3mm stainless and just now blocked it. Took for small run and think I saw a small difference in the way it pulls so will see over the next week or so.

Should have asked - In the UK do they plug into the ECU for the MOT

No they not plug in to test ecu in uk ,unless they do on newer cars, still best to keep quiet about that one, and not go putting ideas in their heads

He didn't say anything after he plugged in and there was no mention on the report issued, so presume all ok.
