Ey up,

Is there any way of determining (apart from taking it off) the correct type of bottom arm required for replacement. I've spoken to a few parts shops, even given my reg details but I still haven't found out whether I need the 12 or 14 mm ones.

Im pretty sure they are 12 just look on ebay and time in what you need

A late 2005 MW is probably 14mm. From October 2006 they changed again to pressed steel wishbones instead of cast iron.

According to your VIN and ePER, your car is an early 2005 built on 14th February 2005 and has 14mm cast iron wishbones.

An 03 reg Stilo will have 12mm. They changed to 14mm sometime during 2004 and then to pressed steel wishbones in 2006.
