Hiya folks.

After owning 2 Fiat Bravos and finally admiting that mine and the majority out there on the market are coming to the end of their life, I've today purchased a Stilo.

Its a 2006 1.4 (aircon), dark grey, 3 door, immaculate interior, already had the CD plate conversion done, 1 owner who seems to be an OCD serial service maniac! 90,000 miles on the clock, cam belt already done but dont think the clutch has. No rust or bumps on body work, just a few light scratches that i'm hoping to tackle with my DA this weekend.
I'll be putting my newly refubred 16" 20v coupe wheels on her and giving her a lot of TLC.

Is there any general advice you guys could give me, things to look out for, any cool part tips i.e. is the dynamic spoiler interchangable, do all the badges just unstick, can the front badge be changed for a newer red FIAT badge????

Any help would be greatly apprecaited, as I knew the Bravo like the back of my hand but feel a bit wet behind the ears with the Stilo.

Thanks all

Lee H

welcome to the Stilo section!

if the last owner was ocd! sounds like a decent motor. which means he has probs changed the rear bushes which can be a right pain! and also the drop links/wishbones normally dont last long on the stilo!

there loads of mods about like the Bravo(always liked the shape on them), cruise control etc.

has it got any toys/extras fitted skyroof/leather/parking sensors?

good to see another Stilo saved for loving!

Hiya Chaps.

Yeh cant wait to the alloys on and see what they look like. Gonna get to her this saturday and scrub the subframe and undercoat it, swap my wheels and stereo, grind a nice bug chunky towing point off and give her a mini serivce. After that I'll get some pics ups.

I have loads of newb' questions if any one could help me out;

- Can you replace the front badge with a more modern one of a Bravo/Punto/500
- Any reccomendations for side repeater replacements.
- A recommended Xenon HID kit
- My back box is blown so wondering whether to replace her with a standard for £50 or go for a sports, my biggest fear being that it'll be too loud though. Has any body got this one:

- Also excpet the front badge, do all other body badges just unstick??

Many thanks folks.
All the best

Hi lee here's what I know.......

Yes you can replace the front badge. You could fit the later red fiat badge off the new bravos or even an abarth one off the 500

Side repeaters - I believe their shared with the grande punto so they might have some ideas

I know nowt about HIDs - they seem more trouble than there worth I'ld just stick with brighter bulbs :D

For an extra 50 notes I'ld go for the sporty one. It shouldn't be mega loud as there's a centre box on stilos which should quieten things down a bit

The "Stilo" badge on the tailgate is just stuck on but if you have the round "fiat" one in the centre as fitted to later cars then there's two little locating pins in the back which fit into two little holes in the tailgate

Hope that helps (y)

Top man gadge!

I'll be posting some befores and after Saturday evening so keep your eyes peeled. Ive got Xenon HIDs on my Bravo and I'm kind of hooked on the shine they give, like a month to a flame!

Thanks for the info on the badges its really helpful.

Gonna take off what I can then replace the old blue ones for new Red ones.

All the best matey.

Ooooh coupe wheels on a Stilo! I don't think I've seen that combo yet?

I have coupe wheels on my jtd - £100 for the set, with usable tyres. Snapshot taken just now, complete with bird crap on wing...... :)

Where do I start lol.

They're illegal, and fitting HIDs in any reflector headlamp unit designed and 'E' marked for filament bulbs will result in dangerous and uncomfortable levels of dazzling light scatter for all road users in front of your car when they're switched on.

Enough said! haha.

Upgraded bulbs it is! Which would you say are the best out of the ones you recommended, also any advice on better side lights?

All the best.

Personally I use Ring Xenon Max, I've used Osram Nightbreakers, but life was a tad poor, although just as effective as the Xenon Max bulbs, apparently the Osram Nightbreaker Plus and Extreme bulbs have a far better life duration than the origional nightbreakers though (y)
