Hi everyone,:)

Even though I've read a million post's I still can't find an exact answer and it's frustrating the hell out of me:mad:.

It's the damn sunroof. The blind is open and will not close at all, and I can't move it manually. The sunroof itself is closed and will not open. I can open it manually and I can shut it with the turning button but that's all I can do. I have tried the reset and nothing.

I can't clean anywhere because I can't get any, except the 1st blade, to move. When I press the buttons or turn the knob nothing happens at all, it's almost like there's no power at all. I have checked the fuse's which were ok but I've put new one's in anyway and still nothing.

Fiat themselves quoted me £1000 to get it fixed but didn't say what the problem is. Is there anything at all I can do, I mean I love the car but I don't really want to pay that amount it's more than the car's worth.

if you can open the sunroof manually, then you can access everything you need to to clean it.

Retract the sunroof, clean the runners, blades, every moving part you can see along the sides and length of each blade, the trap sensors are in there somewhere and will also need a clean. Get some 3-in1 and go over everything you cleaned. Then as rat20v says you need to get access to the motors which will mean dropping the headlining.

Also, drop the control unit and ensure the contacts are clean and in good condition - unplug it clean the contacts and refit. don't put everything back together until its fixed of course! with luck there wont be anything mechanically broken, and its just electrical.
