hi I took my air con pipes off when rebuilt the top end after a cam belt failure.
Before this at mot /service, engineer wrote fault code P0560 refridgerant pressure switch fault on receipt.
I took car for an air con recharge and the garage said as the pump did not engage when button was pressed he thought it would not be a good idea to try filling as there was an aircon fault.
Fiat service data says that there is a linear sensor for the compressor coolant circuit and too low or too high pressure signals will disable the aircon system.
My question is- Does this fault code come from this sensor and would it be ok to try refilling the system?

There is some information in the link below relating to air con pressure switch testing if your handy with an electrical muti meter tester, though the fault code in the link refers to P0530...as you had the fault before removing the pipe work , it may not be the switch and you may of just had low pressure in the system, though again that could be from a leak in the air con, you can get the air con pressure tested before filling.

sorry everyone! got the old paperwork out again it was fault P0530 so I really should take the bottom tray off and put 2.5V signal on pin3 of the sensor to check the a/c and sensor before I pay for the regasing.
thanks Mhowse for the link
