Hello, I have a mystery squeak which is very metalic, at first I thought it was coming from the front offside suspension, but I have now noticed that it only happens when I am accelerating, even very lightly. I am now thinking if it is the cable touching something and squeaking as the car bounces slightly over the road surface . I am presuming the accelerator has a cable as I can't see any, has anybody got any idea's or a diagram so I could apply some grease.:bang::confused:

As far as I know all throttles are fly by wire on the stilo so your barking up the wrong tree with that idea
Does it sound as if it is coming from the glove box? It might be your gearbox mount

thanks for that info I WILL LOOK AT THE GLOVE BOX BUT IT SOUND LIKE IT'S COMING FROM from the front offside

you sure its not the shock absorber?

I also have just developed a mystery squeak in the last two days but mine sounds very much like the shock because I can here it when going over bumps - the noise is in time with the bumps if that makes sense? I also get the squeak when accelerating (car front lifts) and brake (car front goes down). Mine sounds like a dry squeak coming from something compressed - check your shock absorbers!

the mystery with this squeak is it seems to be squeaking with the road bumps as if it is the shock, but if i lift my foot even slightly off the accelerater it stops, does this happen with yours, it took me a long time to realize this

yeah pretty much BUT don't forget, when you lift your foot off the accelerator you release power form the engine thus the engine drops. When you put your foot down, the engine lifts. So could be engine mounts, shocks, springs etc

incidentally, mines stopped doing it...! I can only assume dry shock absorbers or dry engine mounts something like that but I aint rushing out to spend money trying to fix it until it comes back again!
