Hello all,

A new problem has arisen on my cursed car. I'm sitting at traffic lights/in traffic and the rev's during idling jump up to 1500 and drop to 750 a few times before stalling, a re-start is ok but it does it again at the next stop. I've just had a full service carried out, with no advisories. No matter what temperature it is, this will constantly happen. I've also had a diagnostic carried out and nothing about engine problems comes up.

REsolved! It's the injection pump valve. Get that baby open and clear the oil that's making the valve stick. She'll be as good as new!!

I've just changed the head gasket on my daughter's 1.6 Stilo and the idle is uneven, lumpy etc. I've had a look through the guides here and cleaned the throttle body (wasn't that dirty) and done the self adaption reset using multi-ecu scan etc. I've done the throttle body learning process but it just won't play ball.

Other than that, it running great, had it out for a 20 mile drive and the temperature is rock solid and normal. Engine pulls very well and no other issues present. The only other thing I can think is that there might be a slight air leak at the inlet manifold gasket or the central join. Driving me bonkers.

Any suggestions?

Sorted it. Went through all the 'electrical' options and came back to must be mechanical. Exhaust cam was one tooth out. Gawd knows how I managed that as I was using the setting tools. :bang:
