Right Guys ,

drove the stilo around from the front of the house to the back , to give it a good clean , washed it , had to move it as i was blocking my neigbours drive , put it back there when he got in , when i came to switch the engine off , took the key out of the Ignition , but the engine carryed on Running ... I found one of my Relays in that Gray box was getting Quite hot so changed that one for a spare one i had made no diffrance ,, Its deffo not water got in to the Gray box .. i hope ... So any suggestions ?

i took the Relay apart and i can stop the car by turning off the ignition then moving the little trigger thing in side the Realy and then the engine stops ) but ive put a "fresh working relay" in and still got the same problem

Petrol or diesel?

A duff relay may cause this, but also likely is the relay is still getting a trigger signal to operate, hence the replacement does the same.

You need to check if the relay is still getting a trigger signal, hopefully a pic on the top showing the connections. Voltmeter or test bulb should show.
Check also, if the ignition switch is still making contact despite being turned off.

Those are the simple bits to check first.

Quick answer, it does have water in the grey box. Bring it inside over a rad for a day or two to dry or take it apart following the Guide in the Guides section.

Same thing happened to me recently after driving through dozens of deep puddles in bad rain when we had those floods a few months ago. Search on the forum and you'll find a lot of other people have been in the same boat as you and they all said (if they bothered giving a final reply to their own post:mad: Pet peeve, I digress) that drying out the grey box sorted the problem. It worked for me too, I didn't even need to post anything about it on here because the info is all ready on here.

Mine was bad, I leave my car in 1st gear to avoid leaving the handbrake on. I went out to check on the car and it had driven itself 7 foot forward on the starter, incredibly not good :bang:. Luckily it didn't burn out the starter.

Good luck with your fuse box, let us know how ya get on (y).

I cant see how it will be the Gray box , i wasnt presure washing it , ive washed the car 100000s of time but putting more water over it , and never had the prob , I have only took it apart not that long ago :( ,,BUT i will take it off tonight and out it some were hot , just hope its sorted its self out and i took it for a run and got the engine warm last night so lets hope a bit of heat under the bonnet jas sorted it out

had the same problem said u had washed car. I drove through puddle and electrics got wet fine once dried out

I had the same problem in my jtd, except I jet washed it. got back in the car and it wouldn't start (I knew what I'd done wrong straight away-idiot). Also once it started it would carry on running once I'd removed the key.
Didn't have the time to take the grey box apart so gave it the Hair Dryer treatment for half an hour.
It was fine the next morning and soon as I got back from work I put my Battery Cover back on straight away ;)

Glad you got it sorted though :slayer:
