Looking for some help with my battery, went out to car this morning and battery was completely flat couldn't even open doors with remote key, and no power at all anywhere, strangely my windscreen wipers are pointing up where as they usually park, don't know if that's related, anyway I checked voltage with a voltmeter and it was only 2 volts, however if I disconnect battery and check it it is 9v when not connected to car, any ideas anyone, battery was recently checked along with alternator and both were fine

Whoa, coincidence! Went to my Fiat Idea yesterday and it was flat. Couldn't look until this evening and it was down to 4V. Doors wouldn't unlock on the button, dash completely dead.My smart charger (admittedly for a 12V motorcycle) wouldn't even begin to charge it. Resorted to old school charger. Didn't take long to pick back up to +12V. Battery is only 4 months old and the charge rate is 14.4V. Going to do a little fault analysis tomorrow if I get chance. Hope you find your fault!

Could be a short somewhere so the battery is drained all the time.
