Stilo Active Aircon (no controls) JTD multiwagon.

I have sourced a wheel and column with 12 buttons and cruise control on however the quality of the steering wheel is good enough for what I want and I'm just not interested in the cruise. Which would be easiest way to sort out, keeping my original column in, finding a better wheel and clock spring or fitting the new column (already having clock spring in position) finding a better wheel and replacing the ignition barrel.

Sounds a bit complicated but I'm going on the theory that the clock spring isn't supposed to be removed off centre (advise taken off this forum).

any advise would be of help. If it turns out that I could use my original column without too much bother I would be in a position to donate any parts off the new column in exchange for assistance with fitting (Batley Yorkshire).

Cheers

Both, with having a basic wheel without controls I'm want to be able to control the stereo using a leather wheel, not bothered about the extra buttons or the ability to use cruise control.

Not sure if you'll be able to retool fit the buttons to use, even after a proxi alignment. I think it has been covered on here before so a search should return some results for you (y)

Personally though it's not worth the agro IMO. If you're that fussed about having leather wheel I'd fit it and leave it without the buttons working.
