Hi all
i have a 1.6 16v stilo 03 reg. it has a big oil leak. is the a core plug near the oil pump? it looks like it could be about 12mm.

oil out of a core plug are you sure?

beat me to it lol.
check your oil sender, its is black and plastic on the back of the engine, the 1.6 has a habit of these cracking and leaking loads of oil when running, may not be apparent when not running. give it a wipe it should be clean of oil, if any comes off then thats the problem.

Thanks, if it's not a core plug could I still use 1 to fill the hole? Think I have put a pic on, it's behind this bracket, or do u have any ideas how to fix it? Only got the car on Tuesday and it's been off the road from Thursday.

is there any thread inside the hole?

some one who knows more about the 1.6 lump may be more use than me, what town do you live in? someone may even be able to pop round and help.

have a good clean up to make sure oil is coming from there and not just collecting there from a leak higher up

Think I might have it sorted now. Been to a fiat garage and they had a look on computer and found a 13mm core plug, by the diagrams it looks to be the 1!! So it's now ordered, well I had to get a box of 20!!! So fingers crossed it will be fixed. Thanks very much for all the help
