I want to get more power out of my 1.6 stilo dynamic and was curious whether i could get a turbo for it or where a good place to start would be anyone got any ideas ? Cheers

Every youngster and his dog thinks it's easy to bolt on a turbo. It isn't. You need a new, remappable ECU which understands boost (rather than just vacuum), new inlet and exhaust manifold, new injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, new exhaust, the turbo itself, several hours on a rolling road setting it up.

Alternatively, the 20v Coupe turbo has all that an can be picked up for less than £600 of your anglitski squids. Remember, the Stilo Abarth had the 2.4 litre version of the 20v motor.

But the best place to start would probably be to get a book on turbocharging and read it.

Was on The way to turboing my 1.6 Bravo, and is a waste of money, there's a lot to go wrong, stay N/A and tune it that way
Good ol fashioned tuning

Cam shafts
Proper induction(don't just shove a cone and expect 00000bhp)
Bigger injectors( stilo aBarth)
Porting and polishing manifolds
Exhausts

Not had a problem with a gearbox and mine ended up running 143bhp

Yeah turbos do leave alot to go wrong i dont think i will bother

Where did you get the cam shaft from as im struggling to find anywhere that does a fiat stilo and did you not have to uprate the fuel pump and fuel regulator when you installed the abarth injectors and do they fit okay like no changing anything just bolt on ? Cheers

Cam shafts were from Kent cams and the injectors had to be mated to a custom rail (20v turbo rail cut and welded with green Marea 20v injectors)
The fuel pump was also from a Marea 20v

Tbh, with power of hind sight, I would just enjoy the car as is, a lot of reliability issued arise as a consiquence of the mods.

And running that sort of power required heavy brakeing upgrades too.
Also no insurance company will insure you

Would just enjoy the car and save for a bigger car ie Fiat coupe turbo or Abarth Stilo

A wise man once told me that if you want a faster car buy one and save yourself the hassle. He was right.

Okay i think i may just do that then save and wait cheers for the advice
