My mate has a Stilo 1.4 active sport '06 plate with a power steering issue i.e. it doesn't work. I have checked fuses out for him but all is good. Red steering wheel on dash but no error codes generated/found with OBD 2 scanner. Happened after he hit large puddle but as I said no fuses blown. Need some help with checking out steering pump, including location and how to access. Many thanks to all who can help.

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

The Stilo has no power steering pump, it has electric power assisted steering. The electric motor is located in the steering column below the steering wheel.

If the fault occurred after going through water, there's likely to be water inside the grey engine compartment fuse box. There's a guide to dismantling and drying it here: https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo-guides/313986-how-clean-dry-out-fuse-box-near-battery.html

Water often gets into the fuse box if the large black plastic battery cover is not fitted.

Checked out fusebox, no water. Voltage present at fuse,(both sides). Still needing help in how to access and what to check on steering motor.

There are 2 fuses for the EPAS (Electric Power Assisted Steering), F2 (70 Amp), permanently supplied direct from, the battery, and F24 (10 Amp) supplied from the ignition switch. Check both fuses and continuity of supply to the EPAS ECU on the motor. Also, check the earth connection for the motor.
