Hi guys,

Really hoped I'd never have to do this but my sky window has now become a pain in the arse to close. Today, it doesn't close at all. It used to close every time on the key but wouldn't on the dial. Now it won't close fully on either the key or the dial.

It seems to get to the final stage and then reopen. I have tried multiple resets and have tried to cancel a snag error someone said about in another forum by just pressing the button.

Any ideas would be great...

I will try to upload a video of it if I can figure out how to.

Thanks

Toby

If it re-opens when it stops, it would suggest the antipinch function is operating. It's designed to do that if something (finger, head etc.) is obstructing the roof from closing. The antipinch function works by the roof motor ECU sensing an over current draw, so would do the same thing if the roof was sticking while closing.

Similar thing happened to mine a few years ago. I smeared a thin layer of vaseline on the track to cure it.

Ok I will have a look this afternoon. I managed to lube it up last weekend but will try and get some more in the runners. The odd thing is that I can't get it to close if I do the calibration. Shuts no problem... Hmmmmm

mine started doing this last week when I was showing my neighbour. Hadnt used it for a while. As Davren says its the antipinch sensor but also it can be crap and grime build up. Mine was a bit grimy so I used my air compressor and blew all the crap out, then 3-in1 silicone spray everywhere-runners, mechanism etc and now closes perfectly as before. Its just regular maintenance and I haven't cleaned mine for over 6 months...
