I've been looking at buying a new stereo for my Stilo 1.6 ive seen one on eBay but it says the steering wheel function wound work with a can-bus car?

I means the buttons (if any) on the steering wheel won't work to control the replacement radio.

Assuming (as I'm no expert on the Stilo) that it can take a double DIN stereo, then there's no reason it shouldn't work.

dont bother with the steering wheel controls, i spent a fortune trying and failing at getting them to work with after market units.
I even contacted pioneer directly who sold me a unit that should have done the job, the unit is still in the car but the controls dont and never have worked.
If you want a decent stereo with all the modern features just say goodbye to the controls.

roy...if this is the case, can the buttons be removed or blanked? No point having them if u cant use them.

Just ignore them, will work then you refit the OEM head unit then

if your really bothered then i suppose you could get another steering wheel without the buttons - but im unsure if they done one in leather without the buttons.
My buttons still light up but thats it, i never even notice them, infact when i had an oem i never used them then. I think this was a hangover effect from my previous stilo that never had them on the wheel though.
At the end of the day its a price you pay to have a better stereo system in the car, i can live with it - the car is 11 years old now and everything barring the buttons on the wheel and egr work so its doing pretty well.
