Hi guy my stilos power steering failed a while back I checked the battery at a few garges
and they said was fine and the alternator all good too checked fuses for hair line cracks none.so I replaced the motor on the power steering unit and all was good for about a month then it stopped working again. Took it to my mates garage he pluged it in wiped the faults and was working fine till the night time and as soon as i turned head lights on it failed again. Now im just stuck have no idea what to do next please help guys.

The Stilos TRW Steering units hardly ever go wrong. what were the codes your mate deleted?

my money is on battery issue

was just the power steering fault and engine management which came on after getting the exhaust welded probs got summit to do with the lambor sensor so i was told.

so he didnt tell you what codes they were just 'some in the steering and some in the engine ECU'?

It's no too helpful to be able to diagnose.

Get the actual code(s) if they come back, don't just clear them

they are back engine management and the power steering failure light

You need to post the actual fault codes. Probably a letter "C" or "P" followed by 4 digits.

right had it back to my mate garage these are the following faults:
P0141- heater circuit sensor
P0136- o2 sensor malfunction
C1007- power steering motor faulty
C1013- control unit faulty
B1031- mirror heating faulty
B1019- drivers door locking faulty

he cleared the faults and the power steering worked all day till the next morning. then my wife drove about 4 miles did something got back in the car and it worked again for about 5 mins then failed. someone please help I keep thinking its the battery but had it tested and apparently its fine.

How was it tested? Was it a drop test?

Might also be worth checking the battery connections etc.

yes had drop test mate said change battery as he said wasn't good enough.
new battery went on today still not working. don't know what else to do now.
