Hi, I've had the dashboard message for years now, never really worried as I was told by a dealer the airbag would still work (guff?). Anyway, failed its MOT today because of the warning light. Looked on a previous thread (Deckchair5 08-08-2006) and read about opening the connectors and spraying electrical contact cleaner - it didn't work. The male connector has black. brown & blue wires, the female has black, green & purple. Can I connect black to black, brown to green and blue to purple? Cheers

Just take a look how they are connected when the plastic bit is on, cut everything off and solder them. You will need to do that under both seats, also dont forget to clean the one in the lower glow box, is it still the same you will need to invest in a magical ocs

Thanks, not sure what you mean by the "lower glow box" or a "magical ocs", but I'll try the connectors under the passenger seat next and see what happens.

and just wanted to find out by what did you mean solder cheers

Sorry for my English. If you drop down the lower glovebox lid and theres a small door in the roof of the compartment there where youll find the yellow airbag connector disconnect it and use contact cleaner and let it dry then reconnect.

Ocs emulator is used to connect instead of the seat that sends a fault , connecting the emulator it will send a signal with no error message

I have same problem with warning.
I've had it before and used those nylon electrical connectors under seats. All OK for a couple of years then warning came on.
Local garage ran diagnostic and code points to dash. Have cleaned the connector above glovebox, no joy! could it be the actual airbag controller behind top glovebox. If so how much is it? Would an emulator work?

The wires on yellow connector in glovebox are connected as;
One of the brown to purple
One of the blue to green
The other brown to blue/green
The other blue to blue/yellow

Is this correct?

I just solved this problem about a month ago. I too tried cleaning the contact where the plugs connect with no luck. I had noticed the that actual wires that go inside the plugs looked stretched so all I did was move the whole unit somewhere so I had more play with the wires and pushed them securely inside the clips. Hope this helps
