Hello Guys,
I have a Fiat Stilo 1.6 16v 2002.
Was geting ASR,ESR,Alternative Failure Lose Connection. Random Cutouts at cold start and hot.

Best place to start is the ECU and do a BGA Reballing you can do it at a PC/Laptop Service it;s cheap and takes 30 minutes.

Remember to get it out first and ready cause the laptop guys are not mechanics follow Dracco121 post on easy fix on forum if the pins is not your case 100% is the BGA from the chip, also tell your IT guys that the pins need to be unsolder to access the chip.

But also make sure that you do the D4 thingy and check the battery and alternator 12.x off, 14.x on.

The problem occurs due to the use of lead free solder which cracks unlike the softer solder containing lead

When it cracks it can cause a chip to become dis-connected from the PCB

This is very common in game consoles like PS3 & X-Box where the GPUs get very hot under extreme use
 
So a quick update, car drove perfectly last night after i fited the reballed ecu for 3hours, this mornib when i started got error right away asr,esp, car security, any ideas ?
 
Update, the ecu was taken to a repair shop seems it had a power suply component problem and replaced the component... now in tests.
 
Went to fiat cleared all the error logs, atm car works perfectly. Only error on tester wad car smoke lighter light.
 
2 days of normal use only got an error today one time on start: alternativ. Fail , any ideas ?
 
Ok so latesy ipdate alternative fail didnt show up no more, but i get engine fault 2 days ago position light bolb front stoped working but after 2 days its working again, tips ?
 
Hi there,
So I have an alternative fail. with an accumulator light on and the power steering is not working. Yesterday the same problem disappeared when I started the engine and pushed the accelerator a little bit, but today it didn't work. Maybe someone can tell, what's the problem ?

Update the problem was sorted out by taking the chip to a guy who said one of the power source was burned and he bypassed it. until now everything works fine car didnt lock up anymore only thing i got was an engine fault, and airbag failiure, but maybe engine fault is from injectors or something and airbag failiure from the connectors under the passanger seat ocs... but for the topic it was the ecu burned powersource.
