Hi everyone looking to change a set of tyres on my stilo, currently on standard 215/40/zr18, does anyone run any different? I have heard a few people running 225.
It seems there isn't all that much choice in the standard size, what's everyone else running? Any recommendations? It's currently on continental contact sport 2 and can't say I was that impressed especially at how quickly they wore out! Cheers

Im pretty confident im running 225's but only a budget brand and the moment. In terms of rubbing, ride etc. It's a harsh ride and I get a bit of rubbing on the O/S/F inner arch, but i'm not sure thats down to the size of the tyre! (y)

Are u running standard ride hight then? I was worries about issues with rubbing, lots of people have things to say on budget tyres but I've driven on better budgets than the continentals I'm currently on! Thanks for the reply

Yeah you can run 225's without any problems :) I've seen them fitted on a JTD. The only thing I will say is that 225's have a slightly lower profile than the 215 18"s. I know this because me and the owner measured his car and then mine

Gadge are you running 215/40/18's on Enzo? Had a good/bad experiences with different tyres on these? From
What I've noticed they seem to absolutely eat front tyres, I've had 8,000 miles from the continentals :/ they are evenly worn all over at 1.8mm making wet weather driving a bit twitchy to say the least, I'm swayed towards a set of nexen n'fera SU1 they get better ratings than the conti's and for a budget/mid rage I've found them good in the past!

Yep standard height. My (stagnant) project thread is here: https://www.fiatforum.com/members-motors/329647-project-factory-fresh.html

And the rubbing is described here:

Yes I'm running 215 40's on mine and your right they do eat tyres. I had 4 new pirrelli P-zeros on mine and the outside edge worn dramatically quickly. I had the tracking adjusted which sorted most of it but I've done 12'000 miles since then and there about at 2.5 to 3mm I'ld say which is well below the usual wear rate. I think the lowered suspension our cars have must have something to do with it. I think its one of those Stilo quarks that we have to put up with :D

One thing I would say though when I bought those P-zeros was that I inquired into budget ones the man there (who I trust) said that the cheaper less known brands used a different compound which on wide tyres like ours made the tyres wear quickly. He said I'ld be lucky if I got three years out of them which going on these P-zeros he was probably right
