Cant remember if I mentioned it on this forum or not so you can get asked again :D

My Stilo digital dash has a faint light. You know the part between the clocks that tells you the miles. Well when off and key out the digital clock shows but it seems to have a faint background light. I noticed the other night and thought odd. Then I thought it was street lamp reflection. I have just been to the shops and its like that now. So is this the norm? seems odd and could be an unnecessary drain on the battery.

Have you tried the dis-connect battery for 30minutes trick to attempt re-set cars computer/electrics, always worth a try when anything mysterious on the electrical side occurs.

Lol. Just been to disconnect it and could not find the dam thing. Tad dark and it looks like it may be under a plastic cover. Ill do it tomorrow cheers. Noticed another problem. Car would not open with the fob and the green lights on light on the dash also has faint power to it. Hmmmm

Is that the ECU in the engine bay with two multiplugs attached? If that is it would unplugging it not have the same effect as disconnecting the battery?

Feck.

Get out to car today only to find a flat battery. Bloody light drained it  I am going to get to the bottom of this and sell the heap. Cant be doing with unreliable cars. Low mileage Stilo anyone? Its fine if you drive it every 2nd day :D

Thats a bit strange as mine has a faint ligt as well but the battery doesn't go flat even after a week standing. If you have check it with voltmeter to see the changes in battery after a night. It might be a loose minus or barely connecting. Or a faulty cluster.

Dam. Never thought about taking a reading when I got home. Battery out and charged for a couple of hours. When it was back in the car and running I was getting 14. something V so its charging fine. I took it for a sedate drive for just over half an hour. The wife needs it tomorrow so when she comes back ill take a reading and keep and eye on it. Sticker on the battery is from 07 so that may be an issue but the sight glass is not showing red. Saying that we should still not have power to the back light. It would be nice if I could get the hand up behind to pull the plug.:D

So is the faint dash light is the only issue that you have ?

Did you ever resolve this? I'm having the same problem, in so much that my LCD panel is ever so faintly on during the night. I think when i immediately leave the car its off, but i checked it this morning and it was on, but very dim.

Any help with this?

Sorry mate I was on holiday, just back. The quick battery drain was an old battery (7 years) got a new one with higher ampage and sent the clocks away to a company called dash tech who fix and give a lifetime guarantee on the clocks for 120 quid. The car has been flawless ever since. Just had it from Scotland to the Black Forest Germany and back. Even all my start up warnings have gone. Well worth it if you are keeping the car long term.
