Hope everyone had a happy new year.I defo am not having a good one.

I have a fiat Stilo 1.6 ,2002. have dove about 40k

My stilo broke down on wednesday morning (08/01/14) again. i drove to work on monday and tuesday but when i tried to start my car on wednesday, it didn't start, it dint even crank. i thought it was the battery.

Talking to a mechanic i was told it might be the starter motor. so i was asked to put the car in gear and rock it forward and backwards...and then try to start the car....which i tried.. on the first attempt to start... nothing happened....

then next time i tried it showed ABS, ASR and EBD failure... did i mess things up more....:bang::bang:

Note:- i did have a winter checkup done by the fiat dealer around 2 months ago who told the battery was in good condition... i did a check my self around the same time using a volt meter. which showed 12v idle and with the car running 14V.

can someone help me with this.....

If you are getting nothing at all when you turn the key, check the earth strap under the battery. It is on the short side and can break at its terminal.
