Have broken spring. Advised that new ones only available from Fiat at £70 each + VAT(only sold in pairs) other stilo springs available from motor factors off shelf. I understand 1.9JTD front springs are the same.Around £30 each. Please can someone definitely confirm.

I've never heard of springs being sold in pairs only? I've always bought them singularly although I do belive the jtd's are the same but I wouldn't risk the purchase untill you find the part numbers.

This could be a could opportunity to upgrade to sports springs. The quality of sports springs are far superior to OEM stuff IMO

The garage doing the repair have been told by all their suppliers that you can only get Abarth springs from Fiat and only in pairs. Probably to get you to change as a pair as recommended!
Traders on ebay are selling springs for around £20-£30 for the 2.4 20V 170 BHP Fiat Stilo but apparently fitment excludes the Abarth!!!!!

Well sort of? The 3 door was always called "abarth" but I'm not sure on the 5 door version which may well have different springs. Is your 3 or 5 door?

Changing them in pairs does make sense as if one has gone the other is probably on its way

5-door. I have emailed a few suppliers on ebay and also Shop4parts to obtain some clarity on this.
