Hi, hope some of you might have came across the same problem or would know a solution for my problem.

My problem is that the front tyres have uneven wear , which is that the front left tyre wears quicker the the right. The wear is even through the tyre, so the edges and midle looses thread at the same time. I also have a bit of pull to left.

When the tyres ware put on tracking was done.

Tyres ware change due to tracking beeing off. After 1st tracking steering wheel wasint straight so I when back and that was fixed.

But slightly pull to left is still hasn't disappeared and tyre will need to be replaced in 2 month time at this rate.

At the moment I only have 2 suspects that might cause this.

1. Broken spring
2. Link/drop rod needing replacement (unsure about the correct name for the part)

Any ideas and help is very much appreciated.

A slight pull to the left is normal due to the camber of the road. try switching the front wheels side to side, unless they are directional, and see if the pull alters. A broken spring should be obvious but unless the car is leaning significantly to the left if won't affect tyre wear, likewise a worn antiroll bar link. If the tyre is wearing evenly as you say then that's it, it's just wearing normally. Try using a better brand, cheap Chinese ones are a softer compound and wear quicker.

The pull doesn't disappear even if I try driving on opposite side of the road. My tyres are directional, so not able to switch sides. I yahe yokohama tyres on front not a cheap brand.

I haven't notice any leaning on left side but would need to take a closer look when its not raining. Wishbone on left side (I think thats the correct name for the part) was replaced about 2 years ago.

Check for play in nearside trackrod end, ball joint, wishbone rear bush and strut itself - looks for signs of dampness indicating hydraulic fluid leak in damper.

Will do that on friday, hoping for a day without any rain but even couple hours rain free would be good to check the car. Thanks to all for ideas and help ;)

My tyres are directional, so not able to switch sides.

From what I've read, the actual difference when running a directional tyre 'backwards' is pretty limited. I wonder if the main advantage is that it inhibits periodic rotation, resulting in more tyre sales.

I've done about 300,000 miles in two Stilos, and the wear on front tyres were always weird. Both JTD's, so some extra load there, but the wear was often uneven. Suspension & alignment repeatedly checked, just gave up worrying about it in the end.

There was a Fiat Service News bulletin about front tyre wear.

I don't understand how it works though, because having levered the wishbone out to tighten the bolts, the rubber bushes would return to their original position when the lever was released.

However, my Stilo used to suffer with front tyre wear, but after carrying out the procedure it was OK.

Thank you for this, will be putting on new tyres on front and having professional tracking done, not those that cost £15 :D learned my lesson , better to pay a bit more to have a quality job done. see what will happen then, just wondering if this can be used anyway or only when the problem is. After closer inspection with a digital tyre depth meter it looks that it is uneven, so im guessing my tracking is out now. Well you live and learn always.
