Hi all. Im looking to install a Raspberry Pi in my Stilo. Its a small computer so I can run a media centre for music and videos and I will also have it running a sat nav. I know how it all connects up but I have a problem that I cannot solve.
Basically for the sound from the Raspberry Pi to work I need to connect it through my radio, but to fit a screen in the Stilo I need a Double din facia kit but its only big enough to fit the screen. I thought about putting the radio behind the facia plate but because its an aftermarket one I needed to connect the red and yellow wire together to get a permanent feed, which means I have to turn it on and off manually. So that means I will need to keep removing the facia plate every time I want to turn it on and off.
I also thought of putting the radio in the glove box but there are not any ISO cables long enough for it to reach that far.

Does anyone know any other way this can be done? If you need me to explain more I will do, this paragraph might be a little hard to understand lol. Thanks :)

Can you not connect the RPi to a small amplifier and then do away with the whole radio?

Ye but its not the same as running it through the car speakers for that surround sound effect. I may end up just doing that if I cant find a way to solve it.

Edit: The only way I can see it possibly working is if I install a switch to turn the radio on and off, but if I turned the switch to off whilst the radio is on. Would the radio 'remember' that it was on and turn back on when I flip the switch to on. Or would I still have to manually turn it on by the radio.
Sorry for the rubbish explanation I really don't know any simpler way to put it.

Look in the guide's section, there's a tutorial for running a switched live feed from either the ignition barrel or the cigarette lighter. You can use that to switch the radio on/off using the key.
