Hi all

im new here but have been lurking for a few weeks since getting my 52 plate 1.9 JTD

im already on modding the car wit full induction piping intercooler chip etc

now ive plumbed in my boost guage sensor wiring as it is electronic now my issue is trying to run the wires from the engine bay throu the bulk head ?

ive been puzzled for two days i just cant seen to find any easy route of feeding the wires

looking at an earlier thread would running my wires from down beside the EGR valve ? and when fed throu where will they pop out ?

any help would be greatly appreciated

thank you

Chris.

under the apillar on passenger side there is also a gromet too, i am doing mine at the moment have some pics :)

Chris have you got any pics of your install? where did you get your feed from? the inlet manifold?

I think 19-20psi is std top pressure
Wouldnt be supprised to see 20-21psi as a norm.
You may get bit higher pressure in 4th or 5th, usually the lower gears dont offer enough load on the turbo, but not sure what your 3rd gear pulls like.
Just reread first post saw chip
Tuning box or remap?
If tuning box you may well see more boost pressure than requested by ecu, as overfuelling can create a boost creep situation where vnt goes full open 19.99% but boost pressure continues to rise.
If you have fes or multiscan etc you can log desired and actual boost and vnt and see how it goes.
Also if your doing a fmic you may see maf value increase a fair bit but still at same boost level.
Id probably not want to boost over 23-24psi max on a std turbo.

hi peeps

thanks for the replys :)

currently its a tuning box i have running and today it boosted to 22 - 23psi in 4th

FMIC is the way but ive heard a bigger maf may help ? 3 bar maf or something ? air intake aint a problem as ive made custom pipeing to the turbo as shore as possible with the maf then a twin core big filter and solid ally pipe as an intake just have to avoid them puddles lol

everyones whos been int he car lately say theres a major increase in power and a friend who tunes supras evos etc says there a massive increase over the the std power but my plan is after the xmas take it to get RR'd and possibly do away with the box and go remap safer and more reliable

Also looking at turbo upgrades if anyone can recommend any ?

any other tips would be brilliant

also waiting on deleivery of my oil and water gauges aswell as a triple pod flat gauge holder for the dash and also blue hoses to tidy up / redo the engine bay.

As for the boost install yeah i tapped and dyed in to the inlet coming off the EGR works a treat :)

Probably not worth changing maf
A 3 bar map sensor may be worth it as your 2.5 bar map may only read to 22psi as ecu cant see higher, would need mapping for the 3bar map though.
I posted a link to a 200+hp 8v a while ago see if you can find it will be helpful for you.
