Quick question for everyone!

I have a Stilo which requires more work than economically viable so it is basically scrap. I have seen a very good condition example for sale but it has an issue - it cuts out now and then. The owner has tried many fixes and now believes it to be the ECU.

Can I use the ECU from mine to fix it? If so, is it a straight swap or does it require reprogramming? Is reprogramming expensive? Anything else I need to bear in mind?

Thanks!:)

Alex from selby tel. 07860562147 supplied me with replacement plug in and go ecu very good and not expensive

Cheers for that. Might give him a call - how much did he charge you for one?

Would still be interested to see if I can swap my ecu into it?

Basically the ECU needs to be "Virginized" before going into the other car. So the answer to your question is, no, it's not a straight swap.

If you can find a decent enough garage to understand what this process is, so can use your ECU, virginize it, and it becomes plug and play for the other car, provided it has the same engine, as ECU's are different throughout the range. (1.6 doesnt fit 1.4 or 1.2, etc.).

I found an ECU on ebay for 40£. Not virginized, but labour is cheap in Romania so I can get a good deal overall.

Vlad.
