Im in need of some advice if possible,My wife has an 04 plate 1.6 16v.Its been a pretty trouble free car until she knocked a speed hump.

As soon as she hit the speed hump it came up engine fault straight away so I had it code read the next day and it came up with camshaft fault. I had the garage replace the cam sensor and was fine for about 1 mile the light back on.

They said it may be the crankshaft sensor so I had one of those fitted but when they stripped it down the mounting bracket was broken which was probably done by the speed hump.

My issue is now I have had both crank and cam sensors changed and also the crank bracket it has still just put the light on after 20mins of driving.

When I collected the bracket from jcs I noticed the bracket mounts were slotted.

Does this have to be mounted in an exact place??.The garage said they couldn't find any info on were it should sit so mounted it where they thought correct.

Im at my wits end and if anyone can shed some light on this id be very greatful.

I think its just one end thats slotted and the gap between sensor and phonic wheel should be 1mm.

Ok thanks for the info,Im trying to gather as much info as possible so when it goes back yet again theres no room for error.

Both holes on the bracket were slotted if I recall.
