Hello

When the car is idle there is an annoying rattle coming from the drivers side I've discovered that it's the liner on the inside of the drivers side wing arch. It is loose and making contact with the metal part of the wing causing a rapid metallic racket! How do I fix this? I've heard of silicone spray would that do it?

Thanks

Phil

You need to pack the gap between the liner and the wing with some fairly hard, but not water absorbant, sponge or rubber strip. This will cure the problem. Are you sure the liner is not vibrating where it touches the front bumper? This is the usual source of such a rattle.

Thanks for your help.

Its definetly the inner arch liner. When i put my finger on and hold it, its stops.

thing is, the inner arch liner fits into the arch in a very specific way. are all the retaining screws in place, there are about four? The liner slots into the arch, over the suspension and when you get the screws in place it pushed the liner into a nice solid fixed position.

I suggest the liner isn't fitted correctly. Silicone spray wont help. Before trying any sponge etc, id take the liner out, then refit.

Right, i'll have to check the screws.
