Runs ok, but still no power,

just plugged in my old throttle body then started the car....


butterfly doesnt move one bit
 
Battery has died now lol,

the throttle (two of them) don't move no matter what...

Think I'll just get rid of it
 
ok so heres the wiring diagram showing engine ECU (M10) > Throttle Pedal (K55)

there should be 5v at the pedal im unsure at the moment, about what pins.

heres wiring from Engine ECU (M10) > Throttle Valve (N75)

also should be a 5v feed but i dont know which...

as i understand it the 5v from the pedal directly controls the valve ancd only returns to the ECU for routing, ie the ecu just outputs the signal from the pedal to the valve... it doesnt process it any way.

as you can see the first diagram shows the connections running through D4 (rectangle connector no bigger than 50mm x 25mm ish, under the battery box) the D4s are NOTORIOUS for all sorts of weird and wonderful faults. gotta be worth a check even if to discount it, theres a guide in the 'Guides' section about how to check it.
 
ok, I check the centre two pins at the throttle body.

The centre 2 pins are what I suspect are the 5V lines,
the volt meter started at 2.5V then dropped down.
No voltage was recorded at the other 4 pins.

The D4 looks fine, might have trouble measuring the voltage there tho

I just don't want to have to buy a new ecu. ....little point in me spending anymore money on it
 
Ok got a multimeter (proper one this time) on the Plug into the throttle body.

Seems the 5V is fine?

Measured the voltage at the other pairs of points (see diagram)

Could I have 2 bad throttle bodies?

I've cleaned the D4 with contact cleaner.
Can anyone tell me what the connector is next to the D4? That doesnt seem to be connected to anything.

If anyone is around Grimsby and could help me ?

Looks like its gonna be scrapped....

Cant afford a virgin ECU
 
the other identical brown connector is for cruise control. you have a 'semi-predisposed' stilo

you have your power feeds on 2 pins and the outs from each of the 2 throttle potentiometers on the other 4 iirc. can you get somebody to depress the throttle and see if those other lower voltage values change?

if they all change with throttle position then i would say its pretty safe to assume that the throttle body is at fault. i have had no experience chasing this particular fault but if you do a search on the forum and maybe in the guides i think some where there is a thread by Devran or Deckchair5 explaining how to strip the throttle body down to clean the contacts. i may not have given you the correct usernames so try a generic search too. all the info is on here SOMEWHERE its just a case of finding it. its been covered loads of times... good luck!
 
The values on the diagram are the different voltages for throttle up and throttle down
 
Hi,

Cleaned everything with contact cleaner.

Spits out 2 new codes

P1121 and P1122

MES reports the throttle angle at 6000 degrees

Any help?

the Red faults are 'fiat specific' where as the black faults are generic to what most manufacturers use for P112x.

these 2 faults coupled with MES reading 6000 degrees suggest to me that your issue lies with the throttle body unit (as we have already established, you know the feeds into it from the ECU via throttle pedal are good)... id advise striping it down. its supposed to be a non serviceable part but where theres a will theres a way. you have a spare TB if everything goes wrong.

Have you got a spare throttle body?

Why don't you swap it with the (what appears clear from the advice the wise Mr Draper has given you) faulty throttle body and see if the faults disappear?

Don't throw away a good forum members advice for the sake of just selling your car on with the fault still present, he's helped you find your fault so at least follow through on the advice given before throwing the towel

Try to get to the point and after if you are not satisfied with the car - sell it.

I understand it takes time to get to the bottom, but it worth it. I myself struggling with mine stilo, however won't sell it until I tried all options.:bang:
