Just started changing cambelt and got to the stage where I am replacing water pump.I have a 2006 fiat stilo 1.9 jtd air con.The pump is held on by three bolts which I have taken off but the pump will not just come off because part of it is behind camshaft pulley to the right as you face it. I might be thick but any hints on removal and installation would be appreciated as this is holding up the job.I dont think removing camshaft pulley comes into the equation as a simple job like removing water pump would become a major job.
Any help appreciated.

It's not a big deal to take of the cambelt puley. You have to take of the cambelt cover and hold the camshaft with a wrench. You'll see the groove (don't know how to call it) on the camshaft.

You don't say whether it's an 8 or 16 valve JTD engine.

If it's a 16v, you don't need to remove the camshaft pulley to replace the water pump. If it's an 8v, you need to remove the pulley and the camshaft sensor. The countersunk screw on the right of the sensor is easily damaged and is fitted with a locking compound. You may need a new screw.

thanks for that Davren its a 16v the pictures you posted are identical to my engine and the picture in the right hand side has the pulley removed. How do you remove the pulley without upsetting the timing. That is if you have to remove it.I thought you said you can do the replacement without removal

If your engine is the same as in my pictures, then it's an 8 valve. The pictures are of my 8v JTD engine.

You have to remove the timing belt before removing the pulley. Instructions are in the 2 Word documents I posted under the pictures.
