Hey All,

I am having some performance issues with my Abarth, it just doesnt push like it used to. Im at the point of maybe doing a rolling road to see what it is pushing out. Dont get me wrong its fast it just isnt hair on the back of your neck when your foots down fast anymore.

It has had a host of things done to it which I will list below, let me know if there is anything you think I have missed and could try.

60,000 Miles:
Timing Belt Change
Alt Belt Change
All 5 Fuel Injectors Changed
Throttle Body Changed
Exhaust Manifold Gasket Changed
Exhaust Front and Centre Decat (This definitely gave it more power! but not what it used to have)
Oil and Filter Change

Thanks for any advice or thoughts in advance :)

Not sure why you did some of the things you did (e.g. new throttle body, new exhaust manifold - why?)

Three suggestions:

1. Change your air filter
2. Consider new plugs
3. Have your cam timing double checked - there have been a lot of people on here complain of poor performance following a belt change...only to find the timing's slightly out because whoever changed it didn't refit the new belt properly.

Just my suggestions. But bear in mind your engine's done 60K so it's not in the first flush of youth...

I changed those parts because my previous engine through a belt so because I knew they worked properly when I did the engine transplant I moved the old parts over. As although the new engine had done 60k as opposed to 50k on my old one, its clutch was much more worn, the fuel injectors were blocked a bit due to laying for so long.

Problem Solved though and you guys are gonna laugh!

I ripped the battery, airbox and surrounding components out today, jesus christ fiat really made the abarth awkward to work on, there is like ZERO room to move things around everything has to come out!

Anyways when the engine had been swapped and the garage gave it a good rev to check it was running ok, they had some blue roll laying in front of the air intake on the front grill, used to wipe up oil and such. So today when i took off the air intake hose what did i find? bunched up blue roll in the airbox blocking a lot of the air filter... i guess when they rev'd it it must have sucked it in lol I removed the blue roll and changed the air filter, now the thing goes like a bat outta hell especially with the decat, its insanely quick

Hilarious, yet very irritating problem solved!
