Insurance quotes

Hi all,

just wanted to let you know about a good quote I had.

Having been with MoreTh>n for 6 years and having full no-claims I was quoted £545 when I switched to my Stilo Abarth Selespeed from a Skoda Fabia.

After looking around I found a few @ £420ish, which was a great improvement.

Then, last night, I tried Privilege.com and got a quote for £365 which includes £150 excess, legal assistance, guaranteed car if mine would need repairing AND breakdown cover. fabulous

...today I called MoreTh>n to cancel, unsurprisingly.

If your up for renewal, and have 4 years no-claims, I'd give Privilege a try...........

Re: Insurance quotes

Diamond....£5** (can't remember exact amount) for me and the wife but bearing in mind im under 25 and only been driving since Feb '05...have 0 years no claims. £150 excess, windshield cover etc etc and it's also on a 10 month accelerator so we will rack up a 1 year no claims in 10 months instead of 12....almost every other quoted over £900

Re: Insurance quotes

I just got my renewal through from Admiral - £287 It was £205 last year.

Anyway been online and got it down to £185 with Direct Line or £200 if I want a guaranteed courtesy car.

The best Confused could do was £207.

I believe location plays a big part in the quote

Re: Insurance quotes

Yeah - I know how difficult it is for younger drivers to get 'reasonable' quotes - and the postal region definitely makes a *BIG* difference

S'pose I'm lucky really, it's one of the better parts of being 38 and living in 'rural' Gloucestershire.

Just to qualify the quote a little better, £69 was for the breakdown cover (a better deal than the £125 I've been paying to the AA). So the actual insurance cover came to £296 - well happy, me!

Im with direct line, and trust me you get what you pay for. If you have an accident their repair centres are bloody awfull.

I was in a 30mph front smash in my fiesta, completely blinded by the sun, guy jumped a red light *smack* £1750 front end rebuild. Done in a week. Great. Got it back and it mangled a set of brand new tyres in 3 weeks. Took it to kwik fit and they told me right away that it had been in a head on smash and it was crabbing. I called Direct Line right away, they said they didnt check the steering or the chasis because "it just looked like bodywork damage". I hit that car so hard i had to have the whole front rebuild from the radiator forward and 2 new wings and they didnt even check the chasis or steering was right! I could have been killed! Still with direct line at the moment as my premium is about 500 for 2 yrs NCB but definitley changing this year.
